Neon Makeup

Makeup trends started with simple eyeshadow to then add some rouge to the 21st century where anything is possible. Slowly, the 80s are coming back through clothing & makeup. However, the makeup trend is quite different, it's neon light makeup!

What exactly is neon light makeup? Well, it's the working with black & a bright eyeshadow then lined with white eyeliner to play the role of the light. The overall look is meant to look as a fluorescent light you see every day. It's a fun little way to be bold or different from others. Although, this is quite a different look. The only way to work this look off is to have confidence in yourself.

As seen above, this is one of the more popular makeup looks that inspire many. This is a french makeup artist Marion Moretti who is known to be more bold than other makeup artists. Here she played with the idea of a neon cat outline around a black eyeshadow using two different neon colors. She also made sure the inner eye had a matching color to allow the eyes not to differ from each other too much. Her lips are then black to not take away the attention from the eyes. However if you examine her lips, you shall see a purple glimmer in the middle. I believe she added a purple shine to add some color in her lips. This makeup look is quite the look. Using neon brights to contrast the dark black.

Some makeup artists actually use UV makeup products. (Which you can find at blacklight.com) Other artist rely on their own skill. Above is a makeup look done by Genevieve Jauquet, she bases off of her skill. She starts with a liquid black lipstick and applies a purple pastel before it dries matte. She then obtains a neon pink and slowly begins to blend it in the edges of a lip. The picture above shows her blending leaves a subtle neon pink around the lip. Once the pink is applied, she outlined the entire lip with a white liner. This signified the actual light coming from the neon lights. Overall the makeup techniques gave an illusion that her lips were glowing!

Now it's time to put an average person to the test! Buzzfeed created a video based off this new trend showing that it isn't the easiest to create. Click the picture to see the video!
