What's going on in the fashion runway?
This first week of January many different designers has shown sneak peeks of their showcases.Looking through three of the latest designer's collection ( Tidi, Gucci, Max Mara) I realized a significant amount of their outfits used various shades of basic colors. Below are there of my favorite combinations. Each has a different type of blue but yet still manage to work together. The practice of using different colors in one outfit is known as color blocking. This type of style is actually quite difficult to use when it comes to choosing an outfit. The colors can work out to ways: they can coordinate with each other or absolutely mesh into one mess.

Gucci : Looking at the Gucci collection it was very difficult to find to solid colors combined. Gucci is a way more extravagant line than the two I have listed blow. Only 2 out of the 87 were complimentary to color blocking. This look shows the two most known colors mixed which are Blue and red. The shoes are a metallic shade which doesn't take much attention away from the wonderful teal dress. What I love about this color block is the red takes the same attention away as the teal does, making the outfit balance out.

Tidi : Tidi was the collection that had the most color blocking. Out of all the outfits, this one was actually quite fascinating. At first, it seems as a normal design. However, the colors combine because it's very similar to the colors of a famously known character. Let's say that this outfit is a modern day Snow White.

Max Mara : Max Mara plays with the soft pastels when it comes to color blocking. Looking at their runway collection gives off such an angelic vibe. This outfit plays with the soft bright pastels. It also uses the black and white matching with every color. The lips are black, the bag, belt and shoes are white. The white belt actually gives the light blue and light yellow a transition between. This soft look is my favorite out of the other pastels combined because it plays with two colors that many don't consider to match.
